Each year, Columbia Legal Services honors a Visionary of the Year at our annual Imagine Justice event, someone who has an inspiring and transformative vision, a proven impact, a commitment to race equity, and who aligns with our mission, vision, and values.

This year, we’re excited to announce two Visionaries, Brenda Rodriguez and Monserrat Padilla of the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN), for building immigrant power across our state, especially in central and eastern Washington. Both Brenda and Monserrat come to their work with lived experience and support our communities through strategic, impactful programs, including courthouse accompaniments, ensuring people can have their day in court, organizing a rapid-response hotline, and organizing deportation defense efforts.

At a moment when immigrants are facing relentless attacks and divisive rhetoric from the administration, Brenda and Monse are leading a diverse and powerful network of over 100 immigrant and refugee-rights organizations and individuals to educate and mobilize to defend the rights and dignity of all immigrants and refugees, centering the voices of impacted communities.

Join us at Imagine Justice on Wednesday, October 16 in Seattle to honor Brenda and Monserrat– and discover more about the effective and innovative strategies we’re employing to help our communities exercise their rights and achieve justice.

Take a break from work and celebrate our movement and the vital work we do together toward a more inclusive and equitable society. Stay tuned for more announcements about our event program!

Thanks again for your continued support.
