I’m thrilled to be co-hosting our 2020 Virtual Imagine Justice event on Wednesday! It’s our once-a-year opportunity to get supporters and new friends together to highlight some of the powerful legal and policy advocacy we’ve been accomplishing in partnership with clients and allies.

And this year it’s free. Only takes you two minutes to register. There will be games and prizes. And for the first time our entire event will be available in both English and Spanish.

We want you to hear from people directly impacted by the disproportionate impact of this pandemic. As you know, COVID-19 harms the most marginalized, including farm workers and people living in prison, by exacerbating existing structures of racism and inequality.

At several farms and packing sheds across Washington, workers have been demanding stronger protections to prevent the spread of COVID-19, yet too many employers failed to take adequate actions. Fed up after so many months, many workers went on strike and are trying to start a union. Maribel Medina lives in Yakima and picks and packages the fresh produce that our families enjoy. At Imagine Justice, she’ll share with you how she’s courageously working to help unionize her workplace and defend the rights of her co-workers during the pandemic. ¡Si se puede Maribel!

I hope you can join us and help spread the word by inviting your community – call them, forward this email, or share our posts on InstagramFacebook, and Twitter. If you can‘t make it, we welcome your financial support during the entire week of Imagine Justice – starting this Monday through October 19.

En solidaridad,

Diana Garcia
