Dear friends,

We want to share that from November 25 to December 2 we will be joining the Mass Blackout, a collective action that calls attention to exploitative labor practices, widening economic inequality, and systems that place profit before human wellbeing. Our participation is one way we can stand with workers, communities, and partners who are pushing for lasting change.

Instead we are asking our community to pause all non-essential purchases. If you find that you must shop during this period, please keep your spending close to home by choosing local farmers, local markets, and small local businesses.

While CLS will not be participating in Giving Tuesday this year due to it happening during the blackout dates, we know many of you still want to take part in this day of generosity. If you do, we ask that you make your gift directly to CLS instead of through the Giving Tuesday site. Your direct support ensures that we can continue our mission to protect and empower our communities.

We also encourage you to uplift other local partner organizations doing vital work every day.  Two powerful examples are Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) whose work strengthens and safeguards immigrant families across the state and La Resistencia, a leading voice for immigrant justice.

Thank you for your continued support, your courage, and your willingness to join us in actions that reflect our values. Together, our intentional choices send a message of unity, power, and resistance to the corporate forces that perpetuate injustice.
