The 2023 legislative session is coming quickly. Our legislators will have 105 days to pass new laws for Washington, and we want to make sure those laws advance equity and justice for everyone in our state. CLS is one of the only legal aid organizations in Washington able to engage in systemic change work through lobbying and class action litigation because we don’t take any government funding.
This session, we are fighting alongside communities to secure health care and unemployment protection for all immigrants, reduce the harms of the juvenile justice system on our youth, continue to cut back on legal financial obligations, and much more.
